Working at heights can be very dangerous. Changing weather conditions, fatigue, and the unexpected can all lead to accidents. Heads Up Safety Services International offers a Fall Protection Safety course which meets all legislated requirements for safety training in BC and Alberta. All persons working above 3 meters (10 feet) require this course. You will learn how to select and wear a harness, pick proper anchor points, proper selection and use of connecting devices and components, and all relevant legislation in BC and Alberta. Syllabus Covers: Regulations for BC and Alberta Responsibilities of Employer & Employees Identifying Fall Hazards Slips and Trips and Elevated Falls Fall Restraint Systems Fall Arrest Systems Using Anchors Using a full Body harness Using Connectors Using Lanyards Deceleration Devices Connecting Hardware Vertical Lifelines Horizontal Lifelines Limitations – PFAS Failure: Common Mistakes to Avoid Other Fall Protection Systems Climbing Protection Safety Nets Calculating Fall Forces & Fall Clearance Calculating Forces of Fall Arrest Fall Protection Plans Emergency/High Angle Rescue Plans Emergency Rescue Techniques Equipment Maintenance & Inspection Length: 6-8 Hours Cost BC/AD: $179+ taxes per person ON: $Please Contact Travel fees may apply.
