MEWP Mobile Elevating Work Platform AWP
Service Description
If you operate, or work near mobile elevating work platforms on the ground, it is imperative to recognize and understand the hazards, know the regulatory requirements of federal CSA standards, provincial legislation and local bylaws, and the safe work practices that must be followed to prevent accidents and injuries. The Heads Up Safety Services International Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) course consists of morning classroom training session and exam, followed by a practical machine inspection and operating exam. This course is recommended for new and existing operators of multiple types of elevated work platforms and aerial work platforms. Your certification for the operation of these devices will be for three (3) years. The course covers: ~ Knowledge and skills to correctly and safely operate an elevated work platform, ~ Current applicable federal, provincial and local legislation, ~ Vehicle stability and stabilizer systems, ~ Causes of accidents/injury and hazard awareness, ~ Operator responsibility, ~ Pedestrian awareness, ~ Power line clearances, ~ Fall Protection (System components EWP specific fit and anchor points), ~ Capacity plates, ~ Control systems, ~ On-slab versus rough terrain, ~ Pre-shift inspection and reporting procedures ~ Work site inspection etc. Course pre-requisite: Students must have a valid Fall Protection certificate from an accredited provider. $225+ taxes per participant
